Here’s a video i made to assist teachers in the english classroom. It’s aimed at 13-18 year olds but is a tool for anyone doing creative writing.

She is the beast.

SHE is the beast that never sleeps.

With feathers frothing with joyful colour.

many tongues to talk, to twist an arm

to tell the tales of heroes come and gone.

She is the beast that whips storms abroad

That once stood proud but now dips its beak

United, divided, confused in her step

The wings so many have laid on to rest.

She is the beast, i’ve hated and loved,

the death in her claws, the fire in her lungs.

Allowed me my freedom, i walk on her back

But she still flies as she chooses, 

who knows where she’ll land. 

SHe is the beast so loving and caring in kind,

So fair in her judgement, so honest and true

So giving, so faithful to all who arrive

SHe is the beast that made me a life.

She is the beast that lives in my soul.

Where stories have come and stories have gone.

The wings that sheltered from the blistering cold

Make me proud to call this beast my home
